If you've captured alfalfa dotted with dew, an irrigation rig shooting water over a hayfield or grass waving in the breeze, consider entering Hay & Forage Grower's first-ever Photo Contest. Farmers and their families are encouraged to show life on a farm – preferably with a forage twist to the photos.
We'll post photo submissions on our Facebook page and the finalists at our booth at World Dairy Expo, which runs Oct. 4-8 in Madison, WI. The winner will receive a $200 cash prize.
Just be sure to take those photos safely, then email them in! Contestants are asked to submit digital photos representing some aspect of forage production – from planting to harvesting to feeding livestock and grazing – to firstname.lastname@example.org. The editors will narrow down the offerings and the winner will be selected at World Dairy Expo in October. Submission deadline is Sept. 23.
Requirements: Digital files should be taken at as high a resolution as possible. When emailing, put "Photo Contest" in your subject line. Limit: Five photos. If the photo files are more than 2 megabytes, send only one or two files at a time. Still have questions? Email email@example.com.
