“Integrated Weed Management: Putting Science Into Practice” will be the focal point of Virginia Cooperative Extension’s 2012 Winter Forage Conference to be held at four locations this month.
Kathy Voth, widely recognized for her research on using livestock as an inexpensive alternative for managing weeds and other vegetation, will be the featured speaker. The Virginia Forage and Grassland Council has arranged to have local producers at each location to discuss how they balance grazing, re-establishment, mowing and spraying to provide quality forage for grazing and haying.
Dates and sites are as follows: Jan. 17 at Wytheville Meeting Center, Jan. 18 at Weyers Cave Community Center, Jan. 19 at Gordonsville Volunteer Fire Company Hall and Jan. 20 at the Old Dominion Agricultural Complex in Chatham.
