Hay-marketing strategies, potential hay markets and yield-vs.-quality concerns will be discussed at the June 28 Wyoming Forage Field Day at Mile High Ranch, Riverton.
A variety of hay harvesting equipment will also be on view and conditioning, curing and preserving hay techniques will be explored by company representatives.
Talks on forage production and management recommendations, as well as fertigation, will be presented. Speakers will include Anowar Islam, University of Wyoming (UW) Extension forage agroecologist; Kelli Belden, director of the UW soil-testing laboratory; Joe Brummer, Colorado State University crop and soil scientist; and Donn Randall, Wyoming Business Council agribusiness division program manager.
