Two Streamside Grazing Workshops will be held in southwestern Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota June 27 and 28.
The first day-long school will be hosted by dairy graziers Vance and Bonnie Haugen, Canton, MN; the second, by beef producers Don and Kim Dudenbostel, Steuben, WI. Streamside grazing will be the focus both days, but updates on the Conservation Security Act, Minnesota’s feedlot regulations, Wisconsin’s use-value taxation law, and other issues will be included.
Presenters at the Minnesota event will include Grazier Dave Serfling; Don Hauge, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency; and Mike Fraunkron, Fillmore County feedlot officer. Scheduled to speak in Wisconsin are Grazier Dick Ryan; Ed Minnehan, American Farmland Trust; Michael Russelle, USDA-ARS/University of Minnesota; and John Cockrell, recently retired grazing specialist.
The meetings are sponsored by the extension services in both states and several other groups. For more information, call 651-653-0618, or go to www.landstewardshipproject.org .
