Alfalfa weevil watches have been recommended in the last week by entomologists in Nebraska, Illinois and Ohio. But Kansas growers maybe should be the most concerned, says Kansas State University entomologist Jeff Whitworth.

"This is the largest population of weevils that I´ve seen in at least 10 to 12 years in Kansas," the Extension specialist says.
