Hay tools will be discussed at the May 10 Northeast Washington Hay Growers Association field day.
The Northeast Washington Hay Growers Association (NEWHGA) will hold a May 10 field day at Hawk Farm near Deer Park. The event is co-sponsored by Washington State University Extension.
Agenda topics include seedbed preparation for weed control and seed placement, pre- and post-emerge herbicides and weed identification. There will also be presentations on maintaining and operating hay-making equipment and selecting and using personal protective equipment when mixing and applying pesticides.
Registration will cost $10/member and $15/non-member. The fee, payable at the door, covers refreshments, lunch and two pesticide applicator recertification credits.
